Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a role in Lexington, KY. This role leads and implements the mechanical requirements, design, development, and validation of new life saving electromechanical products. The engineer establishes product specifications by defining design objectives, product features, cost targets, and deadlines aligned to project requirements. They collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure the product definition is clear, complete, and achievable, grounded in market insights and product research, including qualitative research activities with end users. Partnering closely with contributors from product management, product development, sales, manufacturing, and operations services, the role drives the development and validation of products that meet agreed specifications. The engineer develops testing and evaluation protocols, designs experiments, and oversees the assessment of related product systems and components. They analyze test and product evaluation data, synthesize findings into actionable insights, and present results to stakeholders to inform decisions and continuous improvement. This is a full-time permanent role with an incredibly employee focused manufacturing company in the Lexington area.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.S. in an Engineering discipline
• 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering of new products or related heavy emphasis on product development experience
• Must have spent at least some years designing injection molded parts in CAD and taking designs from concept to mass production

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Injection molded plastics design experience
• Demonstrated CAD SolidWorks experience
• Experience in manufacturing
• Experience with products involving fluid dynamics and seals
• Experience in the following areas is a plus:
o Biomedical Engineering
o Air filtration design
o Respirators
o Computational fluid dynamics
