Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Chief Financial Officer in the Louisville, KY area for a direct hire opportunity with a non-profit organization. This resource will be serving as the financial spokesperson and advisor to senior leadership and the Board Finance Committee. You’ll be working in a multi-service environment and work in the complexity of leading finance across multiple programs, states, and funding streams. This role requires expertise in nonprofit finance, government contracts, risk management, and emerging financial technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics to improve forecasting, reporting, and decision-making. You will work closely with Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief of Staff (COS) on budget management, cost–benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and securing new funding to advance VOA’s mission and strategic goals.
Other responsibilities:
- Deep knowledge of accounting systems, nonprofit financial structures, government contracts, and risk management, with strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to conceptualize, forecast, train, and clearly communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences, including staff, board, and external partners.
- Capacity to assess risks early, identify innovative solutions, and guide leadership in implementing compensating measures.
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, high-growth, multi-service nonprofit environment. ‘
- Ensure the production and distribution of timely, accurate financial statements and budgets.
- Partner with program and administrative leadership to ensure financial data informs decision-making across the organization.
- Oversee analysis of financial data and preparation of reports and forecasts for cost center management, senior leadership, and the Board.
- Serve as the primary liaison with banking, technology, auditing, and investment partners, building collaborative and transparent relationships.
- Oversee RFP processes, audit engagements, and major contractual financial relationships.
- Lead the development and implementation of fiscal policies and procedures.
- Serve as primary staff to the Board Finance Committee and subsidiary corporations; oversee preparation of materials for board and committee meetings.
- Take initiative to drive change and innovation at a pace aligned with the CEO and organizational priorities.
- Ensure board leadership is fully informed of the organization’s financial position, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop proactive strategic financial planning processes to support sustainability and growth.
- Minimize risk through robust systems, internal controls, and compliance measures.
- Ensure compliance with Volunteers of America standards, regulatory requirements, funding source obligations, and GAAP.

10 years of financial leadership experience
Nonprofit experience – nonprofit financial structures
CPA – Certified Public Accountant

Experience utilizing AI or automation tools or finance technologies to enhance operations
Master’s Degree
