Insight Global is currently seeking a Protection and Control Technician for a contract opportunity in Kentucky. This role can sit out of Louisville, KY and offers a lot of growth. The goal of this role is that this technician can install and maintains protection and control equipment, including relays, RTUs, and SCADA systems. Responsibilities include ensuring wiring is correct, managing protection system asset databases, and preparing reports. This role involves bypassing, isolating, and restoring substation equipment, developing cost estimates, and coordinating work schedules with various departments and contractors. Additionally, they maintain documentation, perform safety checks, and assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment.

Experience installing and maintaining protection and control schemes OR 3-5+ years electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing maintenance setting
Associates 2 year electrical degree
Electrical theory background
Experience with equipment like relays, RTU's, SCADA communication systems, transmission facilities, distribution substations and energy control centers
Understanding of transmission system protection
Professional working experience with SEL relays
