Job Description

A client of Insight Global is actively seeking to hire an entry to mid-level, environmental scientist / inspector to join our Stormwater Compliance Program that supports Fort Campbell, Kentucky. A Stormwater Inspector is a professional tasked with inspecting various stormwater management facilities, such as construction sites, industrial facilities, and municipal infrastructure. Their primary role is to gather information to ensure these facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations concerning water runoff, pollution control, and stormwater management.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or equivalent experience in a related field.
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience conducting environmental assessments, stormwater inspection, and/or erosion control experience.
Obtain or willing to obtain an Erosion and Sediment Control Level I Certification in the state of Tennessee or Kentucky.
Proficient within Microsoft Suite and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
Ability to pass a thorough background and drug test, with the ability to obtain a CAC card to access military installations

Certification in stormwater management

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act by inspecting stormwater control measures.
Ensure adherence to erosion control Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs).
Confirm compliance with relevant environmental regulations and permits.
Maintain regular and timely attendance, representing the client professionally to government clients.
Foster a work environment committed to the health, safety, and wellness of all employees.
Contribute to a positive culture where everyone is empowered and accountable for their responsibilities.
Work closely with the clients environmental team and Government Program Managers to support Clean Water Act Programs.
Perform regular inspections of various outdoor and indoor sites to identify deficiencies related to stormwater controls, including work on uneven terrain.
Use provided forms and procedures to document inspection findings.
Keep lists and databases of inspections and findings up to date.
Prepare and submit digital reports based on inspection findings.
Collect water quality samples from surface waters and outfalls for laboratory analysis in accordance with federal regulations.
Assist with MS4 Program community outreach and engage with stakeholders to foster positive relationships and support environmental initiatives.
Assist with other related environmental compliance program tasks as directed.
