IFTA Auditor D2D: A client in the Topeka, KS area is seeking to add an entry level IFTA Auditor to their growing team. This is an entry-level field auditing position in the Vehicle/Motor fuel tax audit work group in Audit Services. The primary duties and responsibilities involve conducting field and office audits of various sized motor carriers to determine compliance with the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP). Auditor is responsible for thoroughly analyzing the assignment, scheduling audits with taxpayers, traveling to the taxpayer's location, examine and analyze taxpayer's records, preparing detailed written reports citing specifics of noncompliance and referencing related statutes and case law.
State and Local Tax Auditor D2D: A client in the Topeka, KS area is seeking to add several entry level Auditors to their growing team. This is an entry-level field auditing position in the State and Local Tax Audit Team within Audit Services. The primary duties and responsibilities involve conducting field audits primarily on companies with annual tax on sales under $70,000/and or tax on purchases under $12,000 to check for compliance with state tax statutes and regulations. Audits are located throughout the United States and involve a variety of industries and record keeping systems. Auditor is responsible for thoroughly analyzing the assignment, scheduling audits with taxpayers, traveling to the taxpayer's location, examining, and analyzing taxpayer's records, conducting research on tax issues and making taxability determinations, using generally accepted sampling techniques, documenting audit steps and conclusions, preparing detailed written reports citing specifics of noncompliance as well as related statutes and case law.
Corporate Tax Auditor D2D: A client in the Topeka, KS area is seeking to add an entry level IFTA Auditor to their growing team. This is an entry-level field auditing position in the Corporate Tax Group of Audit Serv! ices. On the job training will last approximately six months. The field auditor is responsible for collecting taxes -- fairly, professionally, accurately and efficiently. The primary duties and responsibilities involve conducting field and desk audits on small to medium-sized companies, multi-state corporations, and financial institutions to ensure compliance with the Income Tax and Privilege Tax Statutes. Associate is responsible for thoroughly analyzing the assignment, scheduling audits with taxpayers, traveling to the taxpayer's location, examining, and analyzing taxpayer's records, conducting research on tax issues, making taxability determinations, preparing detailed written reports citing specifics of noncompliance as well as related statutes and case law, maintaining written record of procedures performed, and taxpayer interaction. Associate will assist during the appeal process. Position requires overnight travel based on agency needs. Employee is eligible for hybrid teleworking and a promotional opportunity after training
Required Skills & Experience
IFTA Auditor Must-haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Admin, Finance, Economics, etc. or related field
- Excel proficiency
State and Local Tax Auditor Must-haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Excel proficiency
Corporate Tax Auditor Must-haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting OR meet 24 hours of accounting coursework with another degree (8 classes)
- Excel proficiency
