Job Description
The largest dairy supplier in the US is looking to add Transportation Planner to their Logistics team. Joining a team of 5, this individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely delivery of Dairy Powders across the US. Mostly dealing with dry van load coordination, the ideal candidate will be responsible for all load planning activities. This includes tracking sales and transfer orders, managing deliveries through TMS and ERP systems, and scheduling carriers for pickup/delivery. Additional job duties include:
Plan and prepare schedules that balance all parties’ (member, customer) needs with planned load efficiency and profitability
Ensure all transactions are tracked and accurately recorded in the appropriate systems. Reconcile assigned transactions (pickups/receipts) with customers, haulers, members, etc., daily
Ensure plant managers/staff, suppliers, customers, and haulers have properly documented, reported, and or entered all product and freight data required in the systems
May negotiate contract terms and rates with carrier base, understanding current contracts and defined internal parameters to work within
Support on-time delivery problem solving and performance improvements with customers; actively communicate with all impacted parties to discover solutions to various issues, such as the shipment of wrong product, excess or deficit of product, missed delivery time or date, etc.

Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience working in transportation planning, logistics, supply chain manufacturing/distribution planning
TMS (transportation management system) software experience, platform does not matter
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Previously working in food/beverage industry
Experience with E2open TMS software
SAP ERP experience
