Job Description
To support a successful launch and ongoing production stability, we are seeking a Spare Parts Coordinator to own the planning, availability, and flow of critical maintenance and production spare parts. This role serves as a single point of accountability across Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing to ensure the right parts are available at the right time—minimizing unplanned downtime and protecting equipment uptime. The Spare Parts Coordinator will catalog legacy and launch-related parts, build and maintain critical spare parts lists, set inventory strategies, and actively manage consumption and lead times using Maximo and related systems. This role is key to enabling Maintenance teams to focus on fast, effective repairs instead of expediting parts.
Key Responsibilities
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve critical spare parts lists for stamping presses, dies, and related subsystems.
• Catalog existing spare parts inventory, including undocumented or improperly stored parts, and align them into Maximo.
• Develop subsystem-level bills of material (BOMs) to validate spare parts coverage.
• Establish and manage min/max inventory levels, monitoring usage trends and supplier lead times to prevent stockouts.
• Identify common-code opportunities to standardize parts across equipment and reduce complexity.
Systems & Tools
• Maintain accurate spare parts data within Maximo, including inventory, locations, and usage.
• Use spreadsheets (Excel) to support audits, tracking, and reporting (no advanced analytics required).
• Support CAD-based documentation or part identification as needed.
Production & Launch Support
• Support both current production sustainment and upcoming launch activities, ensuring commonality where possible.
• Coordinate spare parts readiness for new tooling, dies, and press-related assets.
• Proactively address emerging parts risks that could impact uptime or launch readiness.
Supplier & Cross Functional Coordination
• Work directly with suppliers (online, phone, and in person) to source, expedite, and manage parts.
• Serve as the primary contact for Maintenance group leaders, technicians, skilled trades, and machine repair personnel seeking parts.
• Align with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Purchasing on spare parts strategy and execution.
Safety & Process Excellence
• Ensure all spare parts processes comply with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and applicable industrial safety standards.
• Apply Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles related to materials and inventory management.
• Use Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify improvement opportunities across the spare parts supply chain.
• Develop and execute strategies for obsolete parts management and disposition.
