Job Description

Our client is seeking a Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to drive high-quality engineering execution across EPC power projects. This is a hands-on, leadership role for a detail-oriented professional who can take ownership of I&C scope, manage technical deliverables, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Lead all I&C engineering efforts on assigned projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and change controls.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and perform or review both routine and complex I&C design and analysis.
- Prepare and review technical documentation including P&IDs, I/O lists, control narratives, cabinet layouts, and network architecture.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal EPC teams on RFIs, equipment procurement, design reviews, and change orders.
- Ensure all deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards through regular reviews and QA checks.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing, technically strong I&C team.
- Help develop and standardize internal procedures and templates to ensure engineering consistency.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes, enhance client satisfaction, and apply the latest industry technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in electrical or controls engineering from an accredited program
- 4+ years of experience in related work experience in fossil fuels, power or generation
- Experience creating network/architecture drawings, communications drawings, BOP I/O List, control narratives, programming logic, P&IDs, etc.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Professional Engineer
- Familiar with Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) ControlLogix hardware using Flex I/O and PLC controls
