Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee database migration, architecture, and administration efforts. The ideal candidate will lead the migration of PostgreSQL databases from EC2 to AWS managed services, architect optimal AWS data solutions, and design cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services. They will establish security, backup, and disaster recovery protocols, optimize database performance, and support Tableau reporting solutions for federal workforce programs. Responsibilities include maintaining PostgreSQL and MSSQL Server databases, creating and enhancing schemas, stored procedures, and queries, and aligning database architecture with broader application strategy. The candidate will explore emerging AWS data services, develop proof-of-concept solutions, and improve data quality, integration, and governance.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years' of experience in data management and database systems
3+ years experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MSSQL server
SQL querying, scripting, and managing databases
Experience developing and/or implementing data governance and security practices
Experience developing and/or maintaining business intelligence reporting technologies such as Tableau or PowerBI
Experience supporting development teams that run on Microsoft's tech stack, preferably .Net

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

AWS Certifications
Experience with federal workforce development programs
AWS Data Services experience (Glue, EMR, Athena, Lambda, S3)
ETL experience (Python, PySpark, Go, JavaScript)
Experience migrating databases from EC2 to AWS (RDS, Aurora, Redshift)
