Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for a client of theirs in the Orem UT area. This position will focus heavily on evaluating existing structures, developing repair solutions, designing foundation and structural modifications, and creating engineering plans for projects involving concrete, masonry, framing, settlement issues, and structural rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate is not solely a design engineer but someone who understands how structures are built, repaired, and reinforced in the field. Experience working with foundation contractors, concrete crews, masons, carpenters, or structural repair firms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural evaluations and condition assessments of residential and commercial buildings.
Design repairs and modifications for:

Concrete foundations
Foundation settlement and movement issues
Masonry walls and structural elements
Retaining walls
Wood-framed structures
Structural support systems
Roof framing and load-bearing modifications
Structural rehabilitation and retrofit projects


Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and permit-ready construction documents.
Review and approve PE-stamped plans and engineering packages.
Develop practical repair solutions for cracked foundations, deteriorated concrete, structural deficiencies, and construction-related issues.
Respond to municipal plan review comments and AHJ requests.
Collaborate with contractors, project managers, designers, and clients throughout project execution.
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards and client expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.



Experience preparing structural calculations and construction documents.
Ability to independently evaluate structural issues and develop repair recommendations.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.
