Job Description

Our client is seeking an IP Secretary to join their team! This individual will monitor filing deadlines for all patent applications and issued patents, and communicate with the Docketing department. Responsibilities include preparing template documents for attorneys in response to USPTO correspondences, and conduct filings with the USPTO, retrieving and editing prebills and invoices, ensuring accuracy before sending to clients. The secretary will use strong proofreading skills and clear communication with clients, vendors, and personnel. The IP Secretary will support 3 attorneys in the office. This is a permanent opportunity located in Irvine, CA (4 days on site, Fridays are remote). The base salary range is $85,000 - 95,000.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of recent experience in patent prosecution in a law firm setting
Familiarity with both foreign and domestic patient prosecution processes
Experience in managing patent prosecution dockets for attorneys
Experience in filing documents with the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office)
Strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
Excellent grammar, proofreading, and transcription skills
High level of initiative, assertiveness, confidentiality, good judgment, and diplomacy
