Job Description
As a Commissions Specialist, you will be an integral part of our business being the primary contact for our business partner’s production and Commissions Override and Bonus information. The primary purpose is to prepare carrier statement files for commission override calculations, balancing the carrier statements to the general ledger, calculate commission overrides/bonus payments and provide excellent customer service to our business partners and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Access carrier websites to retrieve commission statements. Prepare commission files, calculate override payout amounts and prepare payment requests with high accuracy by interpreting rate schedules and compensation grids.
- Analyze commission statements and balance revenue to the general ledger to calculate commission override payout amounts. Track any discrepancies and work with Accounting department to resolve. Investigate reporting errors.
- Manage, research, and respond to emails in the Commissions team’s shared mailboxes. Research and respond to agents and wholesalers regarding commission and bonus information.
- Obtain and understand commission information from carriers, ensuring the data is complete and accurate.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient in excel with Pivot Tables VLookup, Sumif, etc.
- 1+ year of experience with accounting, finance, accounts payable, or accounts receivable
- Associate or Bachelor degree
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with insurance or processing commissions
