Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer. In this role operates in a BAU and solutioning capacity within an agile environment, running standard stand‑ups and managing both project work and operational tickets through Jira using a round‑robin assignment model. The engineer works broadly across the data and cloud ecosystem, collaborating closely with data application product teams while gaining exposure to all tools and platforms, and participating in a monthly on‑call rotation. Key responsibilities include leading large‑scale migrations from mainframe and on‑prem data centers to the cloud, supporting Guidewire policy, claims, and billing platforms, and executing heavy lift‑and‑shift decommissioning efforts. The role involves standing up cloud infrastructure, managing access control, modernizing end‑of‑life BAU workloads built in Python, Node.js, and AWS Lambda, and supporting advanced analytics and ML use cases using tools such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Calibra, SageMaker, and Sigma. Additional work includes building and staging data pipelines, replicating legacy EDW data into Snowflake, and guiding proofs of concept to ensure scalable, modern data platform solutions. Pay range depending on experience is $60/hr to $75/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of data management administration experience or related
- Thorough knowledge of Snowflake
- Thorough knowledge of current relational databases such as SQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with AWS
- Infrastructure background
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Decommissioning data center experience (moving on-prem to cloud)
- Experience in Bash, and PowerShell
- Experience training junior engineers
- Familiarity with Sage Maker
