Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Life Actuary to lead actuarial modeling, valuation, and reinsurance analysis for a large client in Des Moines, IA. This individual will review insurers’ annual statements, rate filings, and actuarial reports, and assess the validity of models and assumptions. Additionally, coordinate and oversee external actuarial reviews, prepare expert analysis and testimony, and advise leadership on regulatory strategy and market impacts. The role includes participating in multi-state actuarial reviews through NAIC and IIPRC, analyzing insurers under supervision or liquidation, and guiding financial analysts on ORSA assessments. Lastly, contribute to legislative drafting, rule changes, and actuarial research projects, while maintaining strong communication with other actuaries and stakeholders. Salary for this role ranges from $160,000 to $227,000 annually based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of life actuary experience
• Ability to independently develop and promote model laws and policies.
• Strong background in actuarial modeling
• Direct experience or solid understanding of reinsurance transactions and structures.
• Familiarity with valuation processes and interpreting complex financial data.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., actuarial science, data science, economics, MIS, etc.).
• Willingness to travel (including overnight and out-of-state).
• Strong communication skills, especially when working with other actuaries and regulatory leaders.
