Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support a manufacturing work center environment. This position is responsible for supporting new product development and manufacturing efforts through advanced metrology and inspection solutions. The engineer operates within an R&D-driven environment, evaluating and implementing measurement technologies to enhance automation, improve inspection delivery, and drive efficiency across production processes. Acting as a collaborative partner to tooling engineers, operations, and quality teams, this individual influences technical decisions and ensures measurement systems meet evolving business and product requirements. The role involves working with a variety of metrology tools and techniques including CMM systems, optical measurement equipment, and statistical analysis software, while contributing to continuous improvement in product validation and manufacturing processes. Required Skills & Experience

3–5+ years of experience in metrology, quality, or manufacturing engineering (not entry-level)
Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, engineering, or technical discipline
Experience with 3D modeling
Proficiency with CMM and/or hand measurement tools
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence engineering, tooling, operations, and quality teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Programming/scripting experience (Python and/or Java)
Experience in product development and/or manufacturing environments
Experience supporting new product development (NPD) initiatives
Experience with optical measurement systems (MicroVu, OGP highly preferred; Zeiss or Mitutoyo also relevant)
SolidWorks, Minitab, or JMP experience
Military experience, particularly PMEL
