Job Description

Day-to-Day:
This engineer will support Indiana's high-voltage transmission network (34.5kV–345kV) by performing critical studies that ensure the reliability and compliance of the electrical grid. They will independently conduct annual NERC compliance studies including TPL-001, EOP-005, CIP-014, and FAC-002 analyses. Daily responsibilities include running power flow, dynamic stability, transient stability, short-circuit, restoration, and physical security studies using industry-standard software tools. The engineer will collaborate with MISO and other Indiana utilities on regional transmission planning initiatives, prepare documentation for regulatory audits, and assist Transmission Operations during system emergencies and outage events. This role requires a highly technical engineer capable of owning complex studies and making recommendations that support the long-term reliability of Indiana's transmission infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of transmission planning experience
Experience performing power system modeling
Experience with:
Power Flow Analysis
Contingency Analysis
Short Circuit Analysis
Experience validating transmission system data
Experience supporting transmission planning initiatives and long-term system reliability
Ability to independently perform engineering studies
