Job Description

This Automation Engineer role focuses on delivering controls and automation solutions for manufacturing clients across multiple industries, supporting projects from design through startup. The position involves programming and installing PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, while working with industrial networking systems like Ethernet/IP and ControlNet. Responsibilities include system design, functional documentation, troubleshooting, calibration, and improving automation equipment. Candidates typically have a technical degree and hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial control systems in manufacturing environments.

Required Skills & Experience

4–8 years of controls engineering experience
Strong PLC programming (ability to build from scratch)
Experience leading cradle to grave project
Experience with system design, troubleshooting, and commissioning
Strong documentation experience
Willingness to travel up to two weeks at a time.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer technology, information systems, or similar
Experience developing HMI applications using tools like Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, or Ignition
Familiarity with industrial networking components and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
