Job Description
Our client, a leading financial services organization, is looking to bring on a Data Analyst to support the expansion of their enterprise analytics capabilities, with a focus on lending and portfolio performance reporting.
This role will be heavily focused on Power BI development, semantic modeling, and data analysis within Microsoft Fabric, helping to deliver scalable, high-quality reporting and insights across the business.
Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports leveraging data from Microsoft Fabric
Develop and manage Power BI semantic models, including:
Data relationships
DAX measures
Calculated columns and aggregations
Write and optimize PySpark notebooks within Microsoft Fabric for:
Data transformation
Analysis and exploration
Automation and validation workflows
Work within Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks) to prepare and analyze data for reporting
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accurate reporting
Support integration of new data sources into the analytics environment
Troubleshoot issues across datasets, semantic models, and reporting layers
Maintain clear documentation of datasets, KPIs, and business logic
Adhere to data modeling standards and analytics best practices

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field
2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting
Strong experience with:
Power BI (reporting + semantic modeling)
SQL (querying and data transformation)
Experience working within Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms
Proficiency in Excel for analysis and reporting support
Working knowledge of Python or PySpark
Experience working with large, complex datasets
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with financial services, lending, or real estate datasets
Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star schema, facts/dimensions)
Experience supporting executive or portfolio reporting
Understanding of data governance and metric standardization
Exposure to data integrations (APIs, file-based ingestion, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
