Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a top energy and utilities client. This individual will play a key role in designing, building, and supporting enterprise automation solutions with a heavy focus on the Microsoft Power Platform. The role partners closely with business and IT stakeholders to modernize workflows, improve efficiency, and scale low-code automation across the organization. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and business-minded, with experience implementing governed automation solutions in complex, regulated environments while also enabling and mentoring citizen developers.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, process automation, or related role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform:
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale automation solutions
• Strong understanding of automation governance, security, and compliance
• Experience with APIs, system integrations, and databases (Azure preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience enabling and supporting citizen developers
• Background in energy, utilities, or regulated environments
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC, NERC CIP, NIST, FERC)
• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages
• Process modeling experience (Visio, BPMN)
• Azure Functions or cloud-native integration experience
• CI/CD experience using Git/GitHub and GitHub Actions
