Job Description
A Client of Insight Global is seeking a skilled System Administrator to support the design, administration, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise Windows and Linux server environments. Reporting to the Director of Technical Support Services, the System Administrator will play a key role in managing core systems, supporting integrations between enterprise applications, and maintaining a strong security posture. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure stable, secure, and efficient systems that support students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and secure Windows and Linux server environments and associated applications
Manage Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, security groups, and shared file services
Support and integrate enterprise systems such as Active Directory, ERP platforms, Google Workspace, learning management systems, and third‑party applications
Maintain and enhance system and network security in alignment with NIST and PCI standards
Configure and support single sign‑on (SSO), multi‑factor authentication, and identity management solutions
Serve as a secondary administrator for Google Workspace and enterprise mailing list platforms
Manage VMware virtual environments, including provisioning, configuring, and maintaining virtual machines
Monitor system performance and capacity, recommending upgrades and improvements as needed
Automate processes through scripting and custom tooling
Troubleshoot and resolve server, application, and infrastructure issues
Support server and application environments for a diverse user population
Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
3+ years of Linux systems administration (CentOS, RedHat, Debian)
3+ years of Windows Server administration
3+ years of VMware virtual server management
3+ years of SAN storage management (iSCSI or Fibre Channel)
Experience with user provisioning, SSO, and multi‑factor authentication
Strong experience with directory and messaging services (Active Directory, LDAP, SMTP/email)
Scripting and programming experience (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, etc.)
