Job Description
A Controls Technician works hands-on on the manufacturing floor supporting robots, conveyor systems, and automated equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting electrical and controls issues, working closely with a small team of 2–3 controls technicians and reporting to a Section Manager. The technician should have a working knowledge of PLCs and be comfortable bridging the gap between a maintenance robotics technician and a controls engineer. A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow in controls and automation are key to success in this role.
Troubleshoot and repair robots, conveyor systems, and automated production equipment on the manufacturing floor
Support and modify PLC-controlled systems to resolve controls and electrical issues
Work alongside maintenance and robotics technicians to diagnose automation-related problems
Assist with basic programming changes, system checks, and startup support for equipment
Communicate issues, fixes, and improvement opportunities to the Section Manager and controls team
Continuously learn and develop controls and automation skills while supporting daily production needs

Required Skills & Experience
High School Graduate
1-2 years of controls troubleshooting experience within the workforce
Experience with PLCs - Allen Bradley, Siemens, Motoman, Omron, Cant, etc.
Experience with robots - Fanuc, Miscawa
