Job Description
We are seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead and support safety initiatives on a large-scale construction project. This individual will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, and partnering closely with site leadership and subcontractors to maintain a safe and efficient job site.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction or industrial safety and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and promote a proactive, safety-first culture across the project site
• Partner with site leadership to establish and achieve project-specific safety goals
• Coordinate with subcontractors to align safety requirements and site-specific safety plans
• Identify, control, and mitigate hazardous working conditions and unsafe behaviors
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and ongoing compliance checks
• Lead project pre-planning efforts, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Safety Task Analyses (STA)
• Develop and deliver safety training and orientation programs (e.g., fall protection, confined space, respiratory, forklift)
• Ensure proper inspection, maintenance, and use of tools and specialty safety equipment
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and safety violations; ensure proper documentation and corrective actions
• Manage and track safety metrics, inspections, and required internal and external reporting
• Support workers’ compensation cases and collaborate with internal and external resources as needed
• Serve as a safety resource and mentor to project staff
Assist senior safety leadership with planning and execution of high-risk activities
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Ability to work on active construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Frequent use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Regular travel to and presence on job sites
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as project needs require

• Valid driver’s license may be required

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
○ (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• 3-5 years of experience in construction and/or industrial safety
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, inspections, and reporting requirements
• Ability to work effectively with site leadership, subcontractors, and field teams
OSHA 30
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• First Aid and/or CPR certification
• Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
OSHA 5-10 or 5-11
