Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead and support equipment-related initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on managing mechanical systems and automation projects post-production line (cold-end), including saws, baggers, compression systems, and insulation handling equipment. The ideal candidate will combine mechanical engineering expertise with strong project management skills to drive equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Lead mechanical equipment projects including installations, upgrades, and trials for cold-end systems (e.g., saws, baggers, compression units).
• Write and manage bid packages using adaptable templates; coordinate with vendors for equipment design and delivery.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings to validate equipment specifications and integration feasibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Vendors) to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and execution.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple sites.
• Support equipment commissioning and troubleshooting during start-up and production ramp-up.
• Conduct performance assessments and implement improvements to optimize throughput, safety, and reliability.
• Maintain documentation and provide training for new or upgraded equipment.
• Participate in vendor reviews and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems, automation, or equipment project management.
• Experience writing and managing bid packages and vendor coordination.
• Strong understanding of cold-end manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments and vendors.
• Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and reporting tools.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Must be comfortable working in manufacturing environments with exposure to temperature changes and moderate noise.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with insulation handling equipment (bat, roll, compression baggers) is a plus.
