Job Description
ME's apply engineering theory to optimize manufacturing processes, often working independently to support a specific value stream while continuously seeking growth and added responsibility. They manage design changes through the MCR process, support product launches, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times. Their role also includes maintaining documentation, conducting cost analyses, implementing ergonomic and layout improvements, and driving continuous improvement using methods like Six Sigma and Kaizen.

Required Skills & Experience
- College degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or electronic, industrial).
o Can be 2 year degree + experience
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Know how to design products and understand how machines and wiring work.
- Know how to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with lean manufacturing
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Rail Industry Knowledge (FRA, AAR), low volume manufacturing (100-200 units a year, OEM/bridges/shipbuilding)
-Locomotive Product Knowledge
-SAP or other MRP systems experience, currently using LN/Infor
-Lean Six Sigma (green or black belt cert)
-Autocad, Unigraphics/NX*(design), any solid modeling exposure, Siemens team center (ERP integrator to save files, change requests)
-PE stamp (plus)
