Insight Global is looking for an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support their team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Electrical & Automation Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands-on support for electrical design, automation programming, and maintenance system development. This role is critical to supporting the Mixing maintenance team, improving machine reliability, and training plant electricians. The engineer will also participate in capital projects from concept through commissioning and acceptance.

Required Skills & Experience
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and implement electrical and automation systems for process equipment upgrades and additions
· Develop technical estimates and schedules for engineering phases
· Provide training and troubleshooting support to plant maintenance electricians
· Identify and implement reliability improvements for machinery and automation systems
· Collaborate with internal teams and manage external engineering contractors as needed
· Support development of maintenance systems and best practices
· Participate in major capital projects including equipment reception, commissioning, and validation
· Provide call-in support for major breakdowns and assist during plant shutdowns
Must-Have Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical field
· 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial automation and electrical systems
· Proficiency in electrical design standards and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SEE Electrical)
· Strong experience with Rockwell PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, GRAFCET)
· Hands-on experience with Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control systems
· Familiarity with HMI systems, especially FactoryTalkView ME Studio
· Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, Data Highway+)
· Ability to train and support maintenance teams effectively
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses (Preferred Skills):
· Experience with Siemens PLCs and automation systems
· Familiarity with Control Techniques, SEW MOVIMOT, and Rockwell drive systems
· Experience with Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise, and Gocator vision systems
· Exposure to robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB)
· Experience in developing and implementing maintenance systems and practices
· Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments
