Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Production Engineer to support one of our largest material handling clients in Columbus, Indiana. The Production Engineer will be responsible for looking at downtime reports to determine root cause and to analyze solutions that will increase new technology and automation to increase productivity of operations. This resource will be the project leader in planning, procuring, integrating and installation of production equipment into the welding areas. This resource will need to have the ability to multitask, critically think and work in a dynamic work environment where several tasks may be assigned at once. After one year, this resource will gain their own capital projects to create, plan, implement, and manage.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Materials/Chemical) OR associate degree in a technical field with applicable experience
0-2+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; doing process improvement, designing, working on, planning, and implementing projects/capital projects
Ability to design fixtures and tooling using Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia
Experience with processes and methods: pneumatics, hydraulic systems, schematic interpretations and ability to troubleshoot those units and design a simple pneumatic or hydraulic system- stop gate, uses pneumatic clamps or data details
Strong technical experience with troubleshooting capability and willingness to work hands-on
