Insight Global is seeking an effective trainer, mentor, process-minded, effective communicator to join a team for one of our large manufacturing clients.
The Weld Tech/Instructor responsibilities are included, but not limited to:
* Provide classroom and shop floor training to new and current fitter(s) and welder(s).
* Administer weld qualification test in accordance with AWS D1.1
* Support production on welding related issues.
* Responsible to maintain and update weld certification tracker and ensure all fitters and welders are up to date.
* Perform welding equipment and flux oven calibration using amperage/voltage, wire feed speed and gas flow meter as required.
* Review welding requirements to keep NTS compliant to customer's specifications.
* Implement and perform monthly plant audit program for all welding processes.
* Responsible to maintain continuity log/reports.
* Help reduce costs through continuous improvement activities that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
* Evaluate processes and procedures to maintain or improve weld parameters and weld efficiency.

* 5 years of welding experience in Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Metal Cored Arc Welding (MCAW) or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes
* Previous experience with welding instructing/ training
* CWI certification (Certified Welding Inspector)
