· Patient facing, first person the patient sees when they walk in - create warm, welcoming environment
· Tasked with placing patients on the tracker board that shows all patients currently in ER *without patient being check in, clinical staff cannot chart, order labs/meds, or access medical history - sense of urgency is crucial
· Areas to support:
o Front triage desk: check in patients who walk in through main ED entrance
o Ambulance Bay: check in patients that come by ambulance/helicopter
o ER Floor: register patients at bedside with portable computer.
· Responsibilities:
o Verify demographic information
o Collect insurance
o Support self-pay process to patients without insurance
Complete medicare documents
· Needs to be comfortable within an Emergency Department setting (blood, bodily fluid, trauma patients, etc.)
· High sense of urgency and quickly adapt to everchanging environment
Strong teamwork and attention to detail
