Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Systems Safety Engineering to join one of our large aerospace clients. This is part of Systems Engineering that complements the technical activities required to deliver a project. It deals with engineering that influence the systems' design and architecture in terms of performance, safety, supportability, testability, and cost consideration throughout the lifecycle of the product. Safety Engineering applies methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams. The Safety Engineering function supports systems engineering activities including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. This is supporting multiple programs including aircraft, radar and weapon systems.

Required Skills & Experience

* STEM Degree

* Ability to obtain Active Secret Clearance

* 5+ years of System Engineering experience alongside System Safety experience as well

* DO178; MIL STD 882

* Familiarity with MIL STD 1472 or 1474

* Experience producing DOD documentation such as: safety engineering analysis report, failure mode effects and critically report, safety assessment report, engineering change proposals system safety report, waiver or deviation system safety report, health hazard assessment report, radiation hazard control procedures, etc.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience in Aerospace, Automotive or Medical Device areas

* Experience with DoD System Safety Programs

* Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

* Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel

* Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (including Agile and/or Waterfall)

* Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system safety engineering

* Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-454, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-1425, and AMCOM 385-17

* Knowledge of MIL-STD-516 Air Worthiness Criteria, Human Systems Integration and SAE 6906
