Job Description
Responsibilities:
Insight Global is looking for a Formulation Scientist to support one of our largest agriscience clients in Indianapolis, IN. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and registering formulation products. They will support the crop protection business by partnering across a diverse team to drive discovery of new products. Their day-to-day will include:
* Discovery through exploration, proof of concept, and development of novel formulation as well as delivery system technologies
* Collaborate across the organization to achieve a streamlined approach to market
* Research report writing, presentation, and intellectual property capture
* develops hypotheses, plans, and executes effective experiments, generates reproducible data, interprets results, and modifies hypotheses appropriately.
* Leads the investigation of product quality concerns/issues and troubleshooting of product quality issues at plant level, conducts rework evaluations and provides recommendations to the plant.
* Consistently applies sound scientific methods to solve technical problems.
* Qualifies new active ingredient and raw material sources and supports shelf-life date extensions for existing products.
* Develops understanding of customer needs through discussion with sales and marketing groups and work towards meeting identified needs
Required Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated competence in formulation technology (including colloids, interfacial phenomena, rheology, solids processing etc.).
* Prior project lead experience within an agricultural formulation setting
* Strong Communication abilities
* Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders (sales, marketing, R&D, regulatory, product stewards, etc.) from multiple backgrounds.
* Prior experience doing commercial development end to end formulations
* BS/MS/PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related fields
