Job Description
This financial services organization is looking for an Institutional Sales Director to join their team supporting both depository and non-depository member institutions throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. This individual will inherit an established portfolio of approximately 70-90 member accounts due to a retirement and serve as the primary relationship manager for banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and other member institutions.
On a daily basis, the Director will manage member relationships, respond to client inquiries, identify opportunities to expand product utilization, and partner with internal Credit, Risk, Legal, and Analytics teams to structure customized funding and liquidity solutions. The role is heavily relationship-focused, with approximately 60% of the time dedicated to servicing and growing existing accounts, while also conducting targeted business development efforts, particularly within the insurance market. This person will develop strategic account plans, present financial solutions to senior leaders, and represent the Bank at industry events and member meetings throughout the territory.
An excellent candidate will bring a strategic, consultative sales approach, strong financial acumen, and experience managing complex institutional relationships within banking, mortgage, insurance, treasury, credit, or capital markets environments.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of domain experience in banking, financial services, mortgage banking, or insurance
5+ years of experience in institutional sales, relationship management, or business development
Experience managing and growing client portfolios and executive-level relationships
Strong consultative sales and relationship-building abilities
Experience discussing funding, liquidity, balance sheet, lending, treasury, credit, or capital markets concepts with clients
Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as Credit, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams
Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to travel 30-50% throughout Illinois and Wisconsin
Bachelor's degree required
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
MBA in Finance, Banking, or a related discipline
Experience covering community/regional banks, credit unions, insurance companies, CDFIs, or housing-focused financial institutions
Knowledge of FHLB products, wholesale funding, liquidity solutions, mortgage products, or member-owned financial institutions
Background in fixed income, treasury management, credit analysis, capital markets, investment banking, or asset management
