Job Description
We are seeking a Manual QA Tester to support the re-platforming and redesign of a hotel operations application used by hotel staff to manage guest bookings. This individual will partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to validate new functionality, review requirements and mockups, execute manual testing, and ensure a high-quality user experience throughout the modernization effort.
Responsibilities
Review user stories, mockups, acceptance criteria, and QA notes to understand feature requirements and expected behavior.
Execute manual testing for new features and enhancements during the application's re-platforming and front-end redesign.
Create and maintain test cases, smoke tests, and regression test documentation.
Identify, document, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps for engineering teams.
Validate functionality, usability, data accuracy, and overall user experience across web and mobile platforms.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and QA team members to clarify requirements and testing scenarios.
Communicate testing progress, risks, and blockers to support sprint goals and release timelines.
Verify that completed development work meets acceptance criteria before release.
Stay current on modern browser and web technologies to effectively test cross-platform experiences.
• Test tickets by analyzing acceptance criteria, understanding implementation, running manual tests, documenting test cases
• Work with product and engineering to clarify use cases, feature requirements and workflows
• Write detailed easy-to-read defect reports for engineers to replicate issues
• Test applications according to industry standards for usability, data accuracy and performance
• Contribute to QA documentation for manual smoke and regression testing
• Communicate test progress and blockers with team leads as needed to support the sprint goals
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of modern browser and web technologies on desktop and mobile web
Day-to-Day
On a daily basis, this QA Tester will review tickets, mockups, acceptance criteria, and developer QA notes, execute manual testing on newly developed features, document and track defects, and work closely with Product and Engineering teams throughout the re-platforming effort. They will focus primarily on testing the redesigned user experience while collaborating with another QA resource supporting maintenance-related testing.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience manually testing UI components for complex web applications by comparing implementation to acceptance criteria
Good knowledge of web pages, web technologies, radio buttons vs. check boxes, a good sense of how web pages are designed, how they should flow, ensuring the users have a good experience.
• 5+ years of experience working with Agile and sprint cycles
• Experience testing API calls using a tool like Swagger, Postman or cURL, know the concept of an API, making the call and comparing that to a web page
• Proficiency documenting defects with a high level of clarity, detail and accuracy
• Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
Strong API experience, and not just with Swagger, but a tool like Postman of Insomnia, to call endpoints and verify the data they see in the UI.
Accessibility experience, using a tool such as NVDA to verify user experience and accessibility insights for testing the code
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, and a collaboration team application like Teams or Slack
• Ability to understand basic SQL queries and JSON data
• Experience using Chrome dev tools to analyze service requests
• Experience debugging with a logging tool like Splunk or DataDog
• Experience with accessibility testing, A11y
