Job Description
The Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Working under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, this individual will conduct laboratory analyses, maintain equipment, document results, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Set up, calibrate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment.
Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis according to established procedures.
Analyze test and experiment results to ensure conformance to specifications.
Gather, interpret, and accurately document laboratory data.
Generate reports using charts, graphs, and written summaries.
Obtain and process specimens for testing and analysis.
Cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms for laboratory evaluation.
Examine stained cell samples to identify abnormalities.
Collaborate with Pathologists and laboratory personnel regarding abnormal findings and diagnoses.
Utilize laboratory systems such as LIMS and/or SAP for sample tracking, documentation, and reporting.
Follow laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related vocational training preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field strongly preferred:
Chemistry (preferred)
Biology
Physics
Other related science disciplines
Experience
0–2 years of laboratory experience.
Internship experience will be considered.
Exposure to wet chemistry, physical chemistry, pH testing, or related laboratory coursework is acceptable.
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and diagnostic testing.
Ability to accurately analyze, document, and record test results.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
Experience with SAP.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
Prior laboratory internship experience.
Academic or hands-on experience with:
Wet Chemistry
Physical Chemistry
pH Testing
General analytical laboratory techniques
