Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support a 300,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Buffalo Grove, IL. The Building Engineer will serve as the technical lead for facility operations, with a primary focus on HVAC systems, while also supporting electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. This person will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, help drive continuous improvement of maintenance programs, and serve as a mentor to the site's Maintenance Technician. The role is highly hands-on and requires someone who can troubleshoot and repair equipment independently rather than relying heavily on outside vendors. Candidates must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, interacting with site leadership, and supporting a facility where uptime and operational performance are critical.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of facilities maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance experience – RTUs and AHUs
Experience utilizing a CMMS platform and following/improving preventative maintenance programs
Commute within approximately 30 minutes of the facility (flexible for the right candidate)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience using FAMIS 360
EPA Universal Certification or related HVAC certification
Experience supporting facilities undergoing construction, renovations, or large capital improvements
Experience working in highly visible -facing environments
