Job Description

Day to day:

Hyatt is currently seeking an Network Engineer to support the Hyatt team. The role provides daily challenges and no day is the same as the next. This role has both operational and strategic responsibilities, along with interaction with customers. This role will plan, coordinate, implement and deliver services to our customers and partners on a variety of platforms and vendors, including Cisco Nexus , Meraki , Arista, F5. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have subject matter expertise in several network technology areas, with the ability to rapidly scale up in other areas. The Network Engineer’s goal will be to deliver a high-quality product by committed delivery dates, consistently.


Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and support new and existing network services
• Monitor and improve performance, reliability, and availability of network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot network issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, and documentation
• Collaborate with management to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
• Out of the box thinking – text book solutions are not always the best answer.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
• Advanced networking experience with switches, firewalls (Cisco ASA/FTD/Fortinet), and core protocols (IOS, Nexus, Arista, VPN, ACL, STP, SNMP)
• Experience with Cisco Meraki or similar cloud-managed networking platforms
• Strong understanding of network security principles (ACLs, VPNs, firewalls)
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing tables)
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash)
• Experience with SD-WAN or hybrid cloud networking environments
• SolarWinds experience (monitoring, management, scripting)
• Exposure to automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
