Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in Dialysis, you will play a critical role in supporting patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Working closely with nephrology providers, dialysis staff, patients, and caregivers, you will coordinate care, provide patient education, monitor treatment outcomes, and help ensure the safe and effective delivery of dialysis services. This position is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about building long-term patient relationships and supporting individuals with complex chronic health conditions.

Schedule
• Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Participation in a rotating call schedule is required.
• Schedule may vary based on patient needs and departmental operations.
• Position based in Quincy, Illinois.
• Collaborative nephrology and dialysis environment focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care and clinical support for patients receiving dialysis services.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor treatment progress, and communicate findings to providers as appropriate.
• Coordinate care plans, laboratory testing, referrals, and follow-up services.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding kidney disease management, dialysis treatment plans, medications, dietary considerations, and home care needs.
• Monitor and review laboratory results, treatment outcomes, and patient adherence to prescribed care plans.
• Collaborate with nephrology providers, dialysis staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Respond to patient questions, concerns, and clinical needs in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and assist with urgent patient needs as required.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities related to dialysis services.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support nephrology and dialysis operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in nephrology, dialysis, chronic disease management, care coordination, or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
