Job Description

Description:
This role will play a critical part in building and optimizing core accounting processes within a complex healthcare environment undergoing significant organizational change.
This is a highly visible opportunity to help establish structure, standardization, and scalable financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and drive finance optimization initiatives across the organization
• Own the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the month-end close process
• Evaluate existing accounting workflows and implement standardized, scalable processes
• Partner with finance and technical teams to leverage ERP systems and automation tools
• Support ERP optimization, including design, adoption, and utilization of platforms such as Oracle, Infor, or Workday
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices across accounting functions
• Help transition the organization from assessment into implementation under tight timelines

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications
• 10–15+ years of accounting/finance experience within large, complex healthcare organizations ($3B+ in revenue strongly preferred)
• Experience across both:
o System-level finance
o Individual hospital operations
• Proven expertise in month-end close (execution, evaluation, and optimization)
• Prior experience leading teams or initiatives through finance transformation or process improvement
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Infor, Workday, or similar)
• Strong operational accounting background (corporate environment; not purely public accounting)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in academic healthcare environments (grants/research accounting)
• Exposure to ERP implementation or finance system transformation initiatives
• Experience leveraging automation or AI tools within finance processes
• Background in budgeting and financial planning processes
