Job Description
Our client is seeking a senior Credit Advisory Consultant to support bankers as they navigate a newly implemented credit process. Bankers are now responsible for presenting deals directly to Credit Officers, and this role will help bridge the gap by providing expert credit guidance, deal structuring support, and risk analysis coaching.
This consultant will work closely with bankers to ensure deals are properly positioned, analytically sound, and clearly articulated prior to submission to credit leadership. The ideal candidate is a former Credit Officer with approval authority who enjoys mentoring and advisory work rather than execution.
Serve as a trusted credit advisor to Bankers and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs)
Review and provide feedback on Lending Transaction Summaries (LTS) and deal narratives
Help bankers clearly articulate credit risk, structure, and analytical rationale
Support and refine deal conversation templates used when presenting to Credit Officers
Hold open office hours where bankers can call in for real‑time deal guidance
Work alongside an existing credit consultant to provide complementary coverage
Act as a sounding board prior to formal credit submission
Utilize internal systems including LTS and Livelink
No responsibility for preparing spreads or underwriting execution.
Schedule & Workload
Days: Tuesday & Thursday
Hours:
Start at ~8 hours per week (two half days)
Will not exceed 20 hours per week
Light schedule initially, with expected volume increase as the strategy scales
Approximately 200 bankers supported; deal volume currently ramping
