A client of Insight Global is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud environments in a complex and classified setting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping cloud strategy by designing AWS-based architectures that align with business objectives and industry best practices. This individual will lead cloud solution implementations and migrations, leveraging AWS services and ECS container platforms to ensure reliable, high-performing infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with development, operations, and business teams to provide technical guidance, ensure security and compliance, and optimize cloud performance and costs. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving AWS resource utilization, implementing security controls, managing cloud spend, and mentoring team members on cloud technologies. A strong commitment to staying current with AWS innovations and cloud best practices is essential for success in this role.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
5 years of experience in cloud architecture or a related role
Active DoD Secret clearance
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Networking, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS, etc.)
Significant EKS or other Kubernetes experience
Experience with containerization technologies, microservices architecture and serverless computing.
Knowledge of DevOps practices, tools (e.g., Gitlab, Git, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
Active CompTIA security+ certificate
Additional AWS certificate
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology
Proactive initiative and independent action.
Resilient and disciplined.
