Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly technical Engineering Lead to support a foundational engineering platform that is moving from crisis mode into sustained delivery. This role is heavily hands-on and architecture-focused, with limited people‑management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will act as a technical anchor for the team—guiding design decisions, addressing architectural pain points, and partnering closely with senior leadership while remaining deeply involved in day‑to‑day engineering work.
This is not a traditional people manager role; it is best suited for a senior technologist who enjoys owning architecture, mentoring engineers, and contributing directly to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Own and evolve the system architecture for a core foundational platform
Identify architectural pain points and break work into actionable stories for the team
Contribute directly to development work alongside the team
Lead technical knowledge transfer and documentation (including transition from outgoing technical lead)
Provide structured technical feedback and performance input (annual documentation)
Partner closely with engineering leadership through weekly 1:1s
Support team health through regular 1:1s and technical mentorship
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and globally distributed teams

Senior-level experience as an Engineering Lead, Technical Lead, or hands-on Engineering Manager
Strong architectural experience in modern application platforms
Deep SQL knowledge with the ability to reason about data flow, schemas, and performance
Hands-on experience with:
Angular
.NET / C#
Azure (including Azure Functions)
Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority
Comfortable operating in a role that is ~80% hands-on technical work and ~20% people leadership
Strong communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams (including offshore)

Prior experience transitioning or inheriting a platform from another technical leader
Experience working on foundational or platform-level products
Background supporting products that scale post-initial launch
Exposure to micro frontends or modular frontend architectures
Experience in environments with both full-time engineers and contractors
