Insight Global is seeking a CMS Cloud Engineer II for a top federal healthcare client supporting CMS programs. This engineer will work hands-on in a highly regulated AWS cloud environment, helping design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure. The primary project focus is the migration of application deployments from on‑prem environments to the cloud and ultimately into the CMS cloud. The ideal candidate has recent CMS experience, strong AWS expertise, and a passion for automation, compliance, and cloud optimization. This role also requires someone who can educate and guide the team on CMS cloud credentials, security requirements, and policies, ensuring all deployments align with CMS standards. This is a long-term contract opportunity with extension potential, offering flexibility for remote work while supporting mission-critical healthcare systems.

Required Skills & Experience
• Current/ Recent, hands-on experience supporting CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
• Direct experience working in CMS’s AWS cloud environment
• Cloud Engineer II: 5–7 years of cloud engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Azure exposure a plus)
• Experience supporting federal healthcare or government-regulated environments
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Experience with Python scripting, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of cloud security, networking, and government compliance requirements
Experience working in multi-account AWS environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Prior work on CMS or other federal healthcare programs beyond baseline support
• Azure experience in a multi-cloud environment
• Cloud cost optimization and performance tuning experience
• Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and cloud observability tools
Tagging governance and cloud resource cleanup initiatives
