Insight Global is seeking an FP&A Manager for a 3PL Warehousing, Fulfillment & distribution client in Chicago, Illinois. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the enterprise, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, profitability analysis, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational decision-making, managing pricing and margin analysis, and partnering with operations and commercial teams to drive financial performance. The FP&A manager will drive financial performance through people and accountability.
This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 times in office at our clients West Loop downtown Chicago office location.
Core Responsibilities include:
1.Financial Management and Reporting
•Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
•Lead multi-site initiatives.
•Ensure timely and accurate closing of accounts in accordance with accounting standards.
•Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, gross margin, cost per shipment, warehouse productivity, and sales pipeline.
•Partner with operations leadership to proactively address capacity planning, order flow, and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions with assigned accounts.
2.Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
•Lead monthly performance reviews, annual budgeting, and periodic forecasting processes.
•Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
•Partner with operations leadership to proactively address capacity planning, order flow, and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Support long-term financial planning and capital expenditure analysis.
3.Pricing, Costing & Profitability
•Develop financial models for new customers, contracts, and warehouse operations.
•Analyze customer profitability by account, service, lane, and contract.
•Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead Lean/CI participation.
•Track KPIs including order accuracy, on-time performance, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction scores.
•Utilize WMS and BI tools to provide data-driven recommendations for service improvements and growth opportunities.
4.Team Leadership
•Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Manage, coach, and develop financial staff/direct reports, building site leaders, not just task executors
•Create development plans. Ensure improvements are real, measurable, and sustainable.
•Complete performance appraisals that include KPI scorecards; actual vs target, trend vs prior periods, and peer benchmarking (site vs site)

Required Skills & Experience
5-7+ years of experience in Account Management or Finance within 3PL, logistics, warehousing, or distribution.
Proven success managing multi-site or national accounts
Strong understanding of logistics services including warehousing, value-added services (VAS), fulfillment, and transportation management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), ERP systems and advanced Excel/BI tools.
Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret P&L performance metrics
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel to client sites and company locations as needed (up to 30%)
Bachelors Degree

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, accounting, or business-related field
