Job Description
A manufacturing client is seeking a Systems Endpoint Engineer to join their team! This role is heavily hands‑on and focused on ensuring employees are fully supported across hardware, software, and user access. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include working the help desk, responding to tickets, providing desk‑side and remote support, and preparing equipment for new hires based on HR onboarding requests. The engineer will image and configure laptops and desktops, install and replace hardware, support printers (including toner ordering and replacement), handheld scanners, Zebra printers, and mobile devices. They will manage Microsoft environments including Active Directory and M365 user provisioning and decommissioning, assist with Azure‑based troubleshooting, and support networking tasks such as staging Cisco firewalls and adjusting user access when required. The role supports multiple locations, with primary onsite support in Lansing and remote (occasional on-site) support for plants in Mexico, Cleveland, and Chattanooga. The workload is approximately 30% user support, 35% hardware, and 35% software. This is a highly independent role requiring flexibility, problem‑solving skills, and comfort working in a fast‑moving environment with occasional off‑hours or on‑call needs.
This is a full‑time permanent role based in Lansing, IL. The on-site schedule is typically 7:30/8:00 AM for an 8‑hour day with flexibility as needed, but the team offers 24/7 support. The position requires being onsite 4 days per week with 1 WFH day. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 annually with a bonus potential of up to ~9%.

Required Skills & Experience
• Mid‑level IT / Endpoint / Systems experience
• Strong Microsoft skillset (Active Directory, Exchange, M365/O365 user provisioning & decommissioning)
• Azure exposure with troubleshooting experience (user and software support)
• Hands‑on endpoint support: laptops, desktops, printers, handheld scanners, mobile devices
• Experience imaging, configuring, and deploying PCs (Lenovo, Dell environments)
• Asset management and detailed documentation experience
• Experience supporting mobile devices (Verizon & AT&T phones)
• Networking exposure: Cisco, FortiGate firewalls, Barracuda RF
○ Experience staging network equipment alongside senior engineers
○ Familiarity with firewall access rules for traveling executives
○ Experience with fiber, Cat5, and copper cabling
• Strong English communication skills (end‑user facing role)
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• U.S. Passport and Driver's License required for occasional travel

• Experience with RF scanning, Zebra printers, and handheld devices
• Networking exposure: Cisco, Fortigate firewalls, Barracuda RF
• Experience staging network equipment alongside senior engineers

• High‑lift or scissor‑lift experience (training provided if needed)
• SAP / ECC 6.0 plant or manufacturing environment exposure
