Production Support Engineer, Credit (Chicago)

For $68.26, Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineer for a major financial client, supporting the Global Markets line of business. This role is part of the Markets Application Production Services (MAPS) team within Global FICC Credit support. The engineer will support Credit Trading platforms (cash and derivatives), electronic trading, trade life cycle, risk, and PnL management. Responsibilities include managing trade capture and post-trade flow platforms, overseeing connectivity, resolving user queries, and developing automation and monitoring tools within an SRE framework.
Daily tasks involve monitoring critical trading systems, performing health checks, handling user queries, and troubleshooting Python and Java based applications. The engineer will manage performance issues, capacity planning, and production releases while applying strong Incident and Problem Management skills. Acting as the primary contact for front- and middle-office personnel, the role resolves trader application issues and business queries to minimize impact. Collaboration with developers, peer support, global/offshore teams, and infrastructure is essential. Additional duties include maintaining documentation, improving monitoring, and standardizing processes. • 7+ years of production support experience in financial institutions
• Experience with Linux/Unix based application platforms
• SQL experience - query a database - mix off from scratch and a run book
• Experience scripting with Shell and Python for automation and scripting tasks (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, being able to read code not write it, etc...)
• Enterprise Monitoring experience– ideally using ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, Splunk
• Experience with scripting: Python, Unix shell scripting
- Bachelors or Masters in Science/Technology

• Experience supporting Python based applications
• Business knowledge in Credit and/or Trading techniques
• Good knowledge of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge management
Previous Bank of America experience
