Job Description

This person is the technical expert for the pathologist assistants and will oversee a team of six. They are responsible for updating SOPs as it pertains to an attending’s request to change a submission for a particular part type. They will also work with the research team to ensure that tissues for research are completed. This is more of an admin role (85% admin work, 10–20% lab work). They will cover for PAs if they are on PTO. This person has a standing meeting with the surgical pathology medical director, as well as other medical directors in different subspecialties, to allow conversations around specific changes for submission protocols. They will work in collaboration with the operations coordinator for the gross room, as well as the IH and Histology operation coordinators, to keep compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Masters of Science degree
PA certified through recognized Board of Registry, ASCP or equivalent
