Job Description
This education company is searching for a Banner/Oracle DBA to join the team and support ongoing production and optimization efforts. The selected candidate will be responsible for mitigating production issues and incidents, monitoring system performance, and executing tuning activities to ensure stability and efficiency. In addition to reactive support, the role includes proactive efforts to reduce technical debt—such as resolving legacy “rogue views” and optimizing Oracle processes. The DBA will also contribute to ongoing bug mitigation efforts, referred to internally as “run plus,” which ties directly to performance improvements. The team currently operates on Banner 9, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating and enhancing this environment.

Required Skills & Experience
· 7–10 years of senior-level DBA experience, with a focus on application-side expertise (not just administrative).
· Experience with invalid object reports and related troubleshooting.
· Deep experience with Banner backend architecture, specifically:
· Core modules: Student, General, and Accounts Receivable (AR)
· Strong understanding of Banner system architecture, including:
· Optimization scripting
· PL/SQL development
Proven ability to triage, problem-solve, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Experience with Pro*C, the programming language used for Banner job submissions.
· Development experience is a plus.
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Pipelines and Gearset.
Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
