Job Description

A Management Consulting client of Insight Global is seeking a versatile Quality-Assurance Specialist who can move comfortably between hands-on UI testing and automated validation of data-centric UI features to join their Reporting and Analytics group. You will test the self-service reporting features used by their higher-education and research clients, help design repeatable test frameworks, and ensure that data flowing from operational databases into our analytics lake (AWS Glue / Iceberg / Snowflake) is accurate, timely, and secure.
This role will be a blend of Manual QA (25%) and Automation and Data QA (75%).

Key responsibilities include:

Automation and Data Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain automated tests (Selenium or similar) for critical workflows; integrate them into Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Build validation jobs that run during CDC deployments to flag feature regressions and errors, and incorrect data returned in reporting features.
- Contribute to load, stress, and scalability tests for application features.

Manual Responsibilities:
- Execute exploratory and scripted tests across Chrome/Edge/Firefox to validate reporting features like Query Builder, delivered dashboards, and other UI features that connect to the application reporting data model.
- Compare data returned in reporting features to source data targets, verify row counts and values to ensure features deliver expected data content.
- Review UI/UX changes with Product and Engineering, create clear test cases, and log defects with complete repro steps.
- Participate in backlog / grooming sessions to refine acceptance criteria and provide test estimates.
- Perform cross-browser, accessibility, and basic security smoke tests on each release candidate.
- Re-test after bug fixes and maintain regression-test documentation
