Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join a large technology client as a Critical Environment Facility Support Engineer. They are finding themselves extremely busy with an influx of deployments that will require energization as well as new data centers that will be turned over from construction in the coming months. Additionally, they are adding in new cooling systems- GB300s and will need help with their installations and buildout. This person will perform basic monitoring of the performance of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) within the data center. Safely assists in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs). Works on tasks (e.g., making rounds, initial assessments on equipment performance) as assigned with limited supervision.



Responsibilities include:

Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)

Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities

Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies

Assist in the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration.

Support electrical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus ranging from a single, large-capacity facility to several smaller one

Required Skills & Experience

+1-5 years of experience working with mechanical / electrical in critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields

General understanding of electrical and mechanical as well as their components with the ability to verify all works operationally

Understanding of mechanical cooling systems (flushing a system, manifolds, installations & building of a system...)

Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification or be willing to obtain within 2 weeks provided by IG



Experience with the following:

Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code

Power Interruption Testing (PIT)
Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdown of 1 source. Critical Load is still supplied through one source (N).
PDU shutdown for power meter replacement
Building management systems (EPMS)
System control panel preventative maintenance
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) preventative maintenance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in a data center
