Job Description

The Welder - Polishing Operator is responsible for performing various forms of welding, mold/die polishing, and quality inspections of molds/dies from external suppliers. The role involves interpreting blueprints to ensure high-quality products, adhering to schedules, and being cost-conscious. The operator must be proficient in TIG/MIG welding and capable of laser welding, coordinating with CNC machining operations to meet production schedules. Responsibilities include setting up welding machines, performing part inspections, and maintaining certifications for welding and polishing. Effective communication with shift crew members is essential to ensure smooth transitions and meet production goals.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in a machine shop with finishing and welding operations equipment.
3-5 years of experience with various welding methods (MIG, TIG, Stick, Laser).
Proficiency in using measuring equipment with tolerances of +/- 0.002 to inspect work.
Minimum high school degree.
Strong communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Trade school education.
Proficiency in mathematics, computer 2D drafting, and general computing skills.
Motivational skills.
Experience in CNC machining operations.
Ability to assist in managing materials and tooling inventories to meet production goals.
