We are seeking a dedicated Junior Mainframe Operator to join our team at the VA Data Center in Hines, IL. The ideal candidate will provide hardware support, assist with planning and training, and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth operations of mainframe systems.
Hardware Support: Provide support for all Atos/Bull communications equipment, GGate Servers, Escala Print Servers, and Virtuo Tape Systems (VTS) at both locations.
Planning Assistance: Assist in planning hardware upgrades, updates, reconfigurations, and relocation of equipment within the data center as necessary.
Training: Help train operators on system hardware and the operation of GCOS console PCs.
Collaboration: Partner with the Atos/Bull team based in Phoenix to provide on-site smart hands as needed.
Non-Bull Equipment Support: Assist with specialized VA-provided Windows PCs with customized Glink scripts used by Operations to connect to BDN GCOS system consoles, log into Timesharing on the BDN systems, and use Video (a Bull system monitoring application).
Compensation:
$30/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
